6 Tested Home Remedies That’ll Help You Do Battle With Grey Hair!

When trying to deal with stubborn, grey hair, you could go the route of simply plucking them out. Unfortunately, as they proliferate, you might end up pulling out so many that you end up with some bald patches. Of course, dumping chemicals onto your scalp may sound pretty scary too.

Are there any natural choices for battling the grey? Yes, but they won’t work as well as the chemical ones. You will have to retreat your hair more often. The key to finding a remedy that works is considering what things actually stain.

Check out these 6 natural dyes for fighting your grey.
1. Henna
The only great natural hair dye is henna.
You can purchase this and combine colors with it to get what you want.
Stylecraze creates an all-natural dark dye by combining 1 cup henna paste, 3 teaspoons amla powder, 1 teaspoon coffee powder and water.
Mix the ingredients together, adding enough water to make a paste.
Apply this to your hair and let it process for 1 hour.
Wash with a sulfate-free shampoo.
This will need to be redone every month.
2. Onion & henna
Honey colony recommends adding onion juice to the henna to help reverse the grey in your hair.
The henna will dye your hair as well, covering your grey.
Peel onion and run it through the blender.
Strain the juice out to add to the henna.
Mix the henna according to the directions and add the onion juice.
Massage this into your scalp and hair and let it process for two hours before washing your hair.
Repeat once a week for three to four months to see results.
3. Coconut oil
Coconut oil is supposed to be good for greying hair as well, according to a honey colony.
Apply a small amount directly to your hair and leave it for 15 to 30 minutes.
Wash your hair like normal. You’ll find your hair is nicely hydrated as well.
You’ll want to do this daily.
4. Beets, carrots, & lemons
You can make a natural hair dye for redheads or blondes by using carrots, beets or lemons.
Natural Living Ideas says for redheads to take 1 cup of either beet juice or carrot juice (chose the vegetable that most closely resembles your hair color) and combine it with some conditioner or coconut oil.
Rub it into your hair and let it process for 1 hour before rinsing.
For blondes, use 1 cup of lemon juice with your conditioner or coconut oil.
Sit in the sun for the hour and then rinse it out.
5. Walnut shells
To get a rich, dark color, Annmarie recommends using crushed walnut shells.
Boil them for 1/2 hour and then cool the water and strain them out.
To get a more intense color, boil the water down.
Apply the water to your grey with a cotton ball.
Let it process for one hour and then rinse your hair in warm water.
6. Coffee
Coffee is also good for getting a dark brown color.
Stylecrazesays to boil 1 pot of strong coffee.
Let it cool and then pour it over your hair until it’s saturated.
Let your hair soak for 20 minutes and then rinse your hair with water only.
